Barry Goldwater once thundered in a convention speech that
"extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice". Goldwater got it wrong - extremism is
always a vice. It only leads to suffering and persecution. I assume when you wish there were more extreme Christians you are not wishing for the
good old days of burning people alive to purify their souls.
