Yikes!! There is so much to say. I still want to respond to some things you wrote awhile back. I will try to focus on one or two thoughts as to keep it short.
You are right. My motivation for this blog is different from yours. I am passionate about Truth and I want everyone to know, especially my dear friends. I am not interested in selling you on some religion; I want you to know the God who created you. What I am hoping you will see is there is plenty of good, solid evidence backing up the Bible and Jesus. God did not ask us to follow Him without giving us PLENTY of evidence to His existence.
The quote about truth from Carl Sagan is referring to the cosmos, how we got here. He mentioned in the same lecture that "we are made of star stuff!" He is making truth claims about "How we got here; What is reality???"
I want to show you that the claims I am making concerning God appeal to facts of history that are clearly recognizable and accessible to everyone. Clark Pinnock defines these types of facts: The facts backing the Christian claim are not a special kind of religious fact. They are the cognitive, informational facts upon which all historical, legal, and ordinary decisions are based."
As far as I know, science is discovering that everything points to the universe having a beginning. No scientist can say for sure what caused that beginning. Carl Sagan has already decided there is no God so even though everything points to a creator he has already ruled out that possibility. Doesn't sound like he is "pursuing the truth no matter where it leads", as he said we all should do. I am hoping you will at least be open to my comments on here.
